The Oberoi Beach Resort, Mauritius

Surrounded by 20 acres of subtropical gardens and overlooking Turtle Bay, a protected marine park, The Oberoi Beach Resort offers an intimate interpretation of Mauritian luxury. Traditional thatched architecture, mature tropical landscapes and beautiful sunset views create an atmosphere of privacy and quiet elegance, approximately 20 kilometres from Port Louis.

Accommodation comprises spacious pavilions and villas overlooking the gardens or Indian Ocean. Interiors feature handcrafted furniture, abundant natural light and sunken marble bathtubs. Private-pool villas include secluded gardens, terraces and thatched dining pavilions, while two- and three-bedroom residences provide exceptional space for families.

Dining is intimate and deeply connected to its setting. The Restaurant serves Creole, Indian and international cuisine beside candlelit reflection pools. The historic Gunpowder Room occupies an 18th-century French colonial building, while The Herb Trail presents slow-cooked dishes from an underground fire pit in the resort’s herb garden. At On the Rocks, fresh seafood is served above dark volcanic rocks rising from the ocean.

The Oberoi Spa features open-air couples’ treatment rooms and a menu of African-inspired therapies, Indian rituals and signature treatments. Two ocean-view pools include a dedicated adults-only pool. Complimentary Touching Senses experiences range from yoga, breathwork and t’ai chi to stargazing, cooking and rum tasting.

Candlelit dinners on the sand, private bathing rituals with Champagne and rose petals, scuba diving among coral reefs and highly personalised hospitality make The Oberoi especially appealing to couples, while spacious villas and cultural activities allow families to enjoy the same refined sense of place.
