The Ritz-Carlton Tenerife, Abama

Rising above Tenerife’s volcanic shoreline, The Ritz-Carlton Tenerife, Abama is an elegant island sanctuary framed by the Atlantic Ocean, Mount Teide and subtropical gardens. Its distinctive Moorish-inspired architecture and terracotta hues create a refined setting for romantic escapes and memorable family holidays.

The resort offers 459 rooms, suites and penthouses, with interiors inspired by Tenerife’s indigenous Guanche heritage and volcanic landscapes. Guests may choose the vibrant atmosphere of The Citadel, the residential comfort of the Penthouses Collection or the enhanced privacy of The Retreat, where hillside casitas, dedicated pools and exclusive areas are complemented by all-day refreshments and attentive service.

Dining is one of the hotel’s defining experiences. The collection ranges from relaxed beachside lunches and Mediterranean seafood to contemporary Japanese and Basque cuisine. Its highlight is M.B, awarded two Michelin stars, where chef Erlantz Gorostiza interprets the culinary vision of Martín Berasategui. Locally sourced produce and seasonal ingredients add a strong sense of place.

Abama Beach offers golden sand, Atlantic views and an exclusive area for hotel guests, while several outdoor pools provide space for both relaxation and family time. The 2,500 m² spa features a wellness circuit, treatments inspired by natural elements, a sauna, Turkish bath and peaceful relaxation areas overlooking the gardens.

Young guests are welcomed to Ritz Kids, with engaging activities designed to connect them with the island’s nature and culture, while a new Splash Park will add further family entertainment. What makes the resort especially distinctive is its ability to combine Michelin-starred gastronomy, extensive leisure facilities and genuine privacy within one remarkable Tenerife retreat.
