LUX* Grand Gaube

Tucked away on a peninsula between two sheltered coves on Mauritius’s northern coast, LUX* Grand Gaube is a five-star retreat with a vibrant personality. British designer Kelly Hoppen’s retro-chic interiors combine vintage references, natural textures and tropical colour, creating a stylish atmosphere that feels more like an elegant island home than a traditional resort.

Rooms, suites and villas are designed around indoor-outdoor living, with views of the gardens, coves and Indian Ocean. Selected accommodation features outdoor bathtubs, while the exclusive villas offer private beaches, generous living spaces and round-the-clock butler service.

Dining is one of the resort’s defining attractions. INTI, the island’s first Peruvian restaurant, explores the flavours of Latin America; Bodrum Blue serves Turkish cuisine in an atmospheric overwater setting; and the remarkable Tree House invites guests to discover Mauritian rum among the branches. Beach Rouge adds relaxed beachfront dining, music and stargazing beneath the night sky.

Families are welcomed with nourishing Little Travellers menus, the PLAY kids’ club and Studio 17 for teenagers. Activities include creative workshops at the Junk Art Gallery, cinema sessions, kayaking, snorkelling, paddleboarding, glass-bottom boat trips and an outdoor cinema under the stars.

Wellness is central to the experience, with daily yoga, Tai Chi, HIIT and mindful movement alongside a restorative spa. Couples can retreat to The Banyan, a dedicated adults-only enclave with its own pool, restaurants and secluded cove. This unusual blend of retro design, imaginative gastronomy, family experiences and private grown-up spaces gives LUX* Grand Gaube a playful yet sophisticated character.
