La Pirogue Mauritius

Located in Wolmar on Mauritius’s spectacular sunset coast, La Pirogue is an authentic four-star resort set within tropical gardens and beside more than one kilometre of white-sand beach. Inspired by the island’s traditional fishing boats, its 248 individual thatched cottages create the atmosphere of a charming Mauritian village.

Accommodation includes garden and beach bungalows, dedicated family bungalows and deluxe beachfront family pavilions. Each has boho-chic interiors and private outdoor space overlooking the gardens, lagoon or beach.

La Pirogue is particularly well suited to families, with separate clubs for children and teenagers, an extensive programme of activities and child-friendly golf and spa experiences. Families can enjoy treasure hunts inspired by Mauritian history, pirogue painting, glowing evening bocce and encounters with local storytelling and traditions. The resort also offers tennis, beach volleyball, giant chess, pitch and putt, snorkelling, kayaking, paddleboarding, sailing, glass-bottom boat trips, aqua gym and water polo.

Three restaurants and four bars celebrate local and international flavours, from Mauritian street food at Coconut Café to live cooking at Wolmar. Van Der Stel offers more than 60 wines by the glass, and guests also receive privileged access to the restaurants and bars of neighbouring Sugar Beach.

Parents can unwind at GLOW Spa, home to single and couples’ treatment rooms, a Shiatsu area and the only hammam in Mauritius. Unlimited complimentary green fees at Île aux Cerfs and Tamarina Golf Clubs add further appeal. La Pirogue’s thatched cottages, vivid sunsets and genuine connection to Mauritian culture make it especially distinctive.
